Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: October 31, 2026
TrendArc Invest LLC, a California limited liability company ("TrendArc", "we", "us" or "our"), runs the website at trendarcinvest.com and its accounts, emails and newsletter (the "Service"). This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Service, why we collect it, who receives it, and the choices you have. It is part of our Terms of Use. The Service is offered to people in the United States. If anything here is unclear, write to us at hello@trendarcinvest.com.
The short version
- You can read the public pages without an account.
- An account needs an email address. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your email address and name with us. If you sign in with Apple, Apple shares your email address (which can be a private relay address that Apple forwards to you) and, the first time, your name.
- We record how the site is used with our own first-party events. They carry a random visitor id, not your IP address, and they never go to an advertising or analytics company. Choose "Essential only" in the cookie notice and they stop.
- We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for targeted advertising, and the site shows no ads.
- We do not give personalised investment advice, so we never ask about your income, net worth or goals.
What we collect
Account details. When you create an account with an email address, we store that address, an optional first name and a hashed version of your password (never the password itself). When you sign in with Google, Google confirms your identity and shares your email address, your name and a Google account id with us; that creates a free account if you do not already have one, or links Google to the account that uses the same email. When you sign in with Apple, Apple confirms your identity and shares an Apple account id and your email address with us, and the first time only, the name you choose to share. If you choose to hide your email, Apple gives us a private relay address that forwards our emails to you, and we store and use that address as your account's email. Like Google sign-in, that creates a free account if you do not already have one, or links Apple to the account that uses the same email. We also store when the account was created, when you last signed in, whether your email is verified, your plan, and a record of plan changes.
What you save. Watchlists, saved portfolio books (the tickers and weights you enter or import), chart drawings and settings, alerts you set, and any list you choose to publish or share. A list you publish, and the handle you pick for it, are visible to anyone with the link.
Portfolio imports. If you import holdings from a file, we read it to build a preview and keep only the book you choose to save. A screenshot or PDF is sent to an AI service provider to read the holdings table; we do not keep the file.
Newsletter and waitlist signups. When you enter your email in a newsletter form or join a plan's waitlist, we store the address, which form or waitlist you used, and the IP address and browser details sent with that request, so we can spot abuse of the form. If you join a waitlist while signed in, we use your account's email address. Unless you chose "Essential only", the signup is also linked to the random visitor id of our usage events (described next), so we can see which pages and links lead people to sign up.
Usage events. Unless you choose "Essential only", our own script records events such as a page view, a click on a sign-up button, a sign-in prompt being shown, accepted or dismissed, a click on a row of the Markets table, a video being played, a sign-up prompt being shown or closed, a registration being started or finished, and a newsletter or waitlist signup. Each event carries the page address, the website that sent you here (its domain only), a campaign tag if the link had one, a random visitor id stored in your browser, and your account id if you are signed in. A page view also records the kind of device (phone, tablet or computer) and whether the browser identifies itself as automated, and we note roughly how long a page stays open in view (in steps such as 10 seconds, 30 seconds or 2 minutes). We work these out in your browser or from the request and keep only the result, not your browser's full identification string. A newsletter or waitlist signup event refers to that signup but does not contain your email address. We use these events to understand which pages and features help people, and to fix what does not. We do not store your IP address with them.
Technical information. Like any website, our servers and hosting providers receive your IP address and browser details with each request. We use them to deliver pages, apply rate limits and plan limits, and keep the Service secure.
Payment information, once paid plans open. Your card details will go to our payment processor directly. We will receive only what we need to manage your plan, such as a customer id, the plan, the billing period and the payment status.
Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can answer it.
Cookies and browser storage
We set two cookies of our own. Neither can be read by page scripts, and both are sent only over secure connections:
ta_sessionkeeps you signed in. It is set when you sign in and expires after a week or when you log out.ta_anonis a random id we set for some actions you take while signed out, such as creating a share link, so that limits on those actions can be applied. It lasts up to 400 days.
We also keep small values in your browser's local storage, which stay on your device:
- Sign-in state, so the header shows the right buttons and your initial before the page finishes loading, and a note that you logged out so Google does not sign you straight back in.
- Preferences, such as chart settings, indicators, layouts, column choices and the last ticker you opened.
- A visitor id: a random string used only for our own usage events (forgotten when you choose "Essential only"), and simple counters that limit how often we show the same sign-in or sign-up prompt.
- Your cookie choice, so we do not ask again.
- Cached data, such as search lists and recent readings, so pages load faster.
- A newsletter flag that remembers you already signed up, so we stop asking, and the waitlists you joined, so the Pricing page shows them.
The cookie notice offers "Accept all" or "Essential only". Until you choose, the site works as "Accept all". You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" in the site footer, or clear all of this in your browser settings; clearing it signs you out and resets your on-device preferences.
How we use it
- To run your account and the features you use: sign-in, saved lists, alerts and plan access.
- To send email you asked for or need: verification and password-reset links, the alerts you set, notices about your account, and the newsletter if you subscribed.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it, from our own usage events.
- To keep the Service secure and working: rate limits, plan limits, abuse checks and debugging.
- To enforce our Terms, protect our rights and those of others, and meet legal obligations, such as tax records once paid plans open.
The newsletter
We send the weekly newsletter to addresses that signed up for it, through a newsletter form, a waitlist or the newsletter box on the email registration form (it starts ticked; you can untick it). A waitlist also gets an email when its plan opens. When you sign up through a form, we first email you a link to confirm the address, and we send nothing else to it until you click that link; an address you have already confirmed for your account needs no second confirmation. Signing in with Google or Apple does not, by itself, subscribe you. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, and you can also switch the newsletter off on your account page. After you unsubscribe we keep the address marked as unsubscribed so we do not mail it again by mistake; signing up again through a form only puts it back on the list once you confirm.
Who receives it
We share personal information only in these cases:
- Service providers that process it for us under their own security and privacy terms: hosting and database providers, which run our servers and store the data described here; an email delivery provider, which sends our account emails, alerts and the newsletter; an AI service provider, only when you import a screenshot or PDF of your holdings; and, once paid plans open, a payment processor.
- Google, for Google sign-in, under Google's own privacy policy.
- Apple, for Sign in with Apple, under Apple's own privacy policy. If you sign in with Apple and hide your email, our emails to you pass through Apple's relay service.
- Files served by others. Some pages load fonts, scripts and images (such as coin logos) from other companies' servers, including content-delivery networks and a market-data provider. Those companies receive your IP address and browser details when they serve the file. We send market-data providers no other information about you.
- The law and safety. When we believe the law requires it, for example to answer a subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights, property or safety of TrendArc, our users or others.
- A change of ownership. To a buyer or successor if all or part of the business is sold, merged or transferred, who will then hold it under this policy or one that protects it at least as well.
- With your consent, or at your direction, such as when you publish a list.
Do Not Track and tracking by others
We do not track you across other websites, and we do not use advertising networks or outside analytics companies. Apart from the companies that serve files and Google and Apple sign-in, described above, we do not allow others to collect information about your activity on our site for their own use. Because of that, the site does not respond differently to browser Do Not Track signals.
How long we keep it
Account data stays while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete it and what you saved within a reasonable time, except information we must or may keep under the law, such as tax and billing records, and copies in backups, which are overwritten over time. Newsletter addresses stay on the list until you unsubscribe, and are then kept only as unsubscribed. Usage events and technical logs are kept for as long as they help us understand how the site is used and keep it secure.
Your choices
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to privacy@trendarcinvest.com from the address on your account. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we may keep what the law requires or allows us to keep.
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter with the link in any issue.
- Choose "Essential only" under "Cookie settings" to stop our usage events, or clear your browser's storage for this site.
- Remove TrendArc from the third-party access settings of your Google account, or stop using Sign in with Apple for TrendArc in your Apple account's settings.
Some state laws give residents further privacy rights. Where such a law applies to us and to you, we will honor those rights as that law requires.
California residents
California's "Shine the Light" law lets California residents ask which personal information a business shared with others for their direct marketing. We do not share personal information with anyone for their own direct marketing.
Security
The site runs over encrypted connections, passwords are stored only as salted hashes, the sign-in cookie cannot be read by page scripts, and access to our systems is limited to the people who run them. No service is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of your information. If a security breach affects your personal information, we will notify you where the law requires.
Children
The Service is meant for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
Where your information is processed
We are based in the United States. We and our service providers store and process information in the United States and may also do so in other countries.
Research, not personalised advice
TrendArc publishes impersonal research under the publisher's exclusion. We do not ask for, use or need information about your finances to give advice, and nothing on the site is personalised investment advice. The full framing is on the Disclaimer page; the rules for using the site are in our Terms of Use.
Changes to this policy
We may change this policy at any time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a new effective date, and changes take effect when posted. Where the law requires your consent to a change, we will ask for it.
